Inspector Referral Terms

These terms cover the ClearCost Inspector Referral Program. By signing up via /inspectors/signup, you agree to be bound by them. The program is operated by Akai Renga Pty Ltd (trading as ClearCost), AIQS CQS #9497, contact hello@clearcost.au.

01How You Refer

Each inspector receives a unique code in the format INS-NNN and a personal referral link. You may share the link or code by any legitimate means — in person, in your inspection reports, by email, on your website — provided you do not misrepresent ClearCost or its services.

02Attribution

A client is attributed to you when they reach the ClearCost website through your referral link, or supply your code at checkout, and then purchase a report. Attribution is recorded in a cookie on the client’s browser for 60 days from their first visit.

If a client visits via two different inspectors’ links, the first inspector wins for the duration of the cookie.
If the client clears their cookies or buys from a different device without re-using your link, the referral cannot be attributed to you.
Codes manually entered at checkout override cookie-based attribution.

03Commission & Payment

The standard commission is $5.00 AUD per attributed report that has been paid in full by the client. No commission is paid on free previews, refunded reports, or cancelled transactions. Commission rates may be varied by written agreement on a per-inspector basis.

When you get paid: commission is earned only once a referred client’s report has been paid for via Stripe and the payment has cleared. Payouts are batched and remitted by bank transfer on the 15th of the following month for all eligible referrals from the previous calendar month.

A remittance email listing the referred jobs and totals will accompany each payout. Where applicable GST is included — if you are GST registered, the payout is treated as a tax-invoice equivalent under the Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) framework, subject to a separate written RCTI agreement.

04What Doesn’t Earn Commission

Self-referrals (purchasing a report on your own behalf).
Referrals to clients who already have an open ClearCost account or who have purchased a report in the prior 12 months.
Reports that are subsequently refunded or charged back.
Bulk submissions, automated traffic, or other practices that artificially inflate clicks or conversions.

05Your Data

We store your name, contact details, business details (if provided), and bank account details solely to operate the program and remit payments to you. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to process payments. You may request your data be deleted at any time by emailing hello@clearcost.au; where we have already paid you, certain records must be retained to meet Australian tax law obligations.

06Ending the Program

Either party may end the relationship at any time, with or without cause. Any commission earned on referrals attributed before termination remains payable on the next scheduled payout date. ClearCost may also vary these terms with 30 days’ notice; continued participation after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

07No Employment Relationship

Participation in the referral program does not create an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between you and ClearCost. You are responsible for your own tax obligations on any commissions received.

08Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
