Building inspection repair cost estimate: questions
What does the estimate include?
Every defect in your building inspection report with its location, a low and high repair cost range for each, and a total repair cost estimate (ex GST). It is issued under the certification of an AIQS Certified Quantity Surveyor (No. 9497), independent of any builder.
Do I pay before I see the numbers?
No. Upload the report and the costed defects come back on screen as a free preview. You pay $55 including GST, plus a card fee of $1.26, only if you want the full PDF report.
Which reports can I upload?
A building inspection report as a PDF, such as a pre-purchase inspection report prepared to AS 4349.1. No account is needed.
How long does it take?
Usually 1 to 3 minutes. A long report of more than 100 pages can take up to about 10 minutes. You stay on the page while it runs, and you can ask for a link to the preview by email.
Where in Australia does it work?
Anywhere in Australia. Repair rates start from a Sydney base and are adjusted to the property's capital city using Rawlinsons 2026 location factors, with a country loading outside the metropolitan area.
Is it a builder's quote?
No. It is an independent estimate of what the repairs should reasonably cost at market rates, for deciding what a property's defects are worth. Builders' quotes will vary with access, scope and the builder.
